Live Nation today announced the acquisition of Swiss concert promoter Mainland Music, which promotes over 650 shows annually across a variety of genres including rock, hip-hop, urban, punk rock and metal.
Longtime partners Christian Gremelmayr, Derrick Thomson, Marc Lambelet, Martin Schrader and Santosh Aerthott co-founded Mainland Music in 2012. The company operates offices in Zurich and Lausanne, and has experienced “rapid growth across Switzerland”, according to the announcement. 
Mainland Music´s has promoted or co-promoted acts including Sam Smith, Macklemore, Queens Of The Stone Age, Parkway Drive, Rise Against, Flogging Molly, Snow Patrol, Dropkick Murphys, Passenger, Die Antwoord, Cypress Hill, Hollywood Undead, Hozier, Biffy Clyro, Marteria, Broilers, Kraftklub, Maluma, Lukas Graham, and more in the past.
Mainland Music will continue all operations, while also joining forces with Live Nation on tours and other promotion opportunities. “This new partnership will add the independent spirit of Mainland Music to Live Nation’s full range of services in Switzerland, enhancing the live music experience for artists and fans throughout the country,” the announcement continues.

The transaction is expected to be completed in early January.
