Live Nation To Reopen Charleston's Music Farm In Partnership With NS2 & FPC Live

Live Nation has entered into an exclusive partnership to operate Charleston, S.C.’s Music Farm, along with Nashville-based concert promotion company National Shows 2 (NS2) and FPC Live, the Madison, Wis.-based joint venture between Live Nation and Frank Productions to operate venues and promote shows across the country.

Live Nation will book the Music Farm in collaboration with the NS2 talent team, while FPC Live will manage and operate the 650-person capacity club. Renovations and upgrades are already underway to enhance the artist and fan experience at Music Farm. FPC Live and NS2 also currently operate the fabled Charleston Music Hall.

The partnership with NS2 and FPC Live adds to Live Nation’s growing portfolio of owned and operated venues around the globe, both in the Carolinas and nationally.

NS2 President Darin Lashinsky added, “We’re excited to welcome the Music Farm to the NS2 and FPC Live family. The music scene in Charleston is vibrant and the Music Farm will play an important role in developing local and national acts. This venue has a 30-year history of hosting many breakout artists and we are thrilled to keep growing the live music offerings and giving guests and performers an upgraded experience.”

Local reports indicated the legendary venue was put up for sale by owner Jerry Scheer and partner Mark Cumins in December 2020, after being closed for the pandemic. “We’re committed to keeping it as the Music Farm,” Scheer told the Charleston City Paper at the time. “There’s no furniture store, there’s no restaurant or anything like that. We just want to keep it as the Music Farm, hinting at negotiations with “two very strong groups that understand the philosophy of the Music Farm… strong, viable groups that have a lot of strong history in the music business. It’ll only enhance the current Music Farm.”

Now, those groups – led by Live Nation, NS2 and their joint venture with Frank Productions, FPC Live – will run the venerable 30-year-old venue.

Scheer, who will continue to own the Music Farm building, released his own statement: “As former co-owners of the Music Farm business and current landlords of the Music Farm venue, we cannot be more excited to be handing the baton to a community-based group such as Frank Productions. We feel they will move the Music Farm forward while still paying respect to the history of the venue. We are looking forward to being part of the Music Farm becoming a new tradition.”
