Brandon Pankey, Live Nation Urban’s VP of Business Development & Operations, has started his own Advertising Video On Demand video network called Artist Presented Experiences (APEX).
The network will feature content exclusively by and for music artists is powered by the brand services agency Quantasy + Associates. Set to launch in summer 2021, APEX will feature programming from Marc Lamont Hill, Billie Woodruff (of “Empire” and “Star”), Senita Brooks (of “Uncensored” and “Revolt 2 Vote”) and Stacey Muhammad (of “Queen Sugar” and “First Wives Club”).
Creative and strategic partners for the network include Live Nation Urban, Heather Lowery’s Femme It Forward, artist Brianna Castro and Just A Rebel.
“Artists are some of the greatest storytellers,” Pankey said in a statement. “I’ve envisioned a network where the next Power, A Star is Born, or Friday, could all coexist in one space for artists of all genres of music. APEX allows that vision to become a reality by offering a compelling mix of scripted and unscripted programming that uniquely positions the platform as one of the first artist-focused networks in the market.”
Pankey spoke to Pollstar in 2019 about his work with The Roots Picnic and Broccoli City Festival.
Live Nation Urban continues to make moves into digital content as president Shawn Gee announced in February he was founding the BlackStream Live Network in partnership with Twitch.
