Live Nation President of Country Music Touring Brian O’Connell is to receive the CMA Touring Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the Country Music Association Touring Awards, which take place Jan. 22 at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works

speaking during a Pollstar Live! panel discussion.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this award from the CMA,” O’Connell said. “This is absolutely not a reflection of anything I have done on my own, rather my incredible team in Nashville, Michael Rapino, Bob Roux and the rest of Live Nation giving us the latitude and guidance to achieve lofty goals, and most importantly the artist community, including the agents, managers and road warriors who make it all possible.”

O’Connell, known simply as “BOC” to many in the industry, has for 25 years contributed to the careers of superstar touring artists including Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley and many others. He also developed and continues to grow the vibrant country festival division that includes the Watershed, Faster Horses, LakeShare and others.

He is nominated for Talent Buyer of the Year at this year’s Pollstar Awards, Feb. 8 in Los Angeles closing out the  Pollstar Live! conference at the Intercontinental Hotel Feb. 6-8.  He won the same award at last year’s Pollstar Awards.

The CMA Touring Lifetime Achievement Award goes to “an individual who has accomplished the highest level in the Country Music field of touring,” according to the announcement. CMA members vote for 15 categories up for awards,
