Miley Cyrus, Tame Impala, Lana Del Rey, Vampire Weekend, Young Thug, The 1975 are just a few names that have been confirmed to perform at the festival

Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival unveiled the lineup for its 19th edition, scheduled for June 11-14 in Manchester, Tenn., on Monday, and announced a few innovations as well.
A headlining trio of Tool, Lizzo and Tame Impala top the eclectic festival’s bill. Tame Impala’s booking follows several headlining appearances in 2019, including Coachella and Lollapalooza, and Tool hits the festival’s stage on the heels of a successful arena tour last year.
Lizzo’s booking is more noteworthy: The ascendant performer has risen through live’s ranks at a stunning clip. For instance, she sold out New York club Terminal 5 in May 2019, moving 2,870 tickets and grossing $96,600 – and just four months later, in September, she sold out Radio City Music Hall twice over, moving 12,026 tickets and grossing $914,368, her most lucrative box office report to date, per Pollstar data.
“We’re sorting through a number of larger headline tour plans in North America and abroad, as well as some very select festival looks TBA!” WME’s Matthew Morgan, who represents Lizzo, told Pollstar in September, also teasing possible plans for a festival curated by the performer herself.
All three 2020 Bonnaroo headliners appeared on Pollstar‘s Top 200 North American Tours chart in 2019, with Tool (No. 47), Lizzo (No. 105) and Tame Impala (No. 165) grossing $28.4 million, $10.7 million and $5.5 million, respectively.
The rest of the lineup is no slouch, featuring Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Vampire Weekend, Young Thug, The 1975, Run The Jewels, Glass Animals, Young The Giant, Bassnectar, Megan Thee Stallion, Tenacious D, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Leon Bridges, Flogging Molly and the reformed Oysterhead – the supertrio of Phish’s Trey Anastasio, Primus’ Les Claypool and the Police’s Stewart Copeland – which hasn’t performed since a Bonnaroo set in 2006.
The Grand Ole Opry returns to Bonnaroo for a third consecutive year on opening night, featuring special guests Andy Frasco, Larkin Poe, The Regrettes and more.
The artists will once again descend on the 10-plus stages spread across The Farm – officially Great Stage Park – 60 miles southeast of Nashville.
This year’s edition is noteworthy because it follows last year’s sell-out, the festival’s first since 2013 and Live Nation’s acquisition of it in 2015. The 2019 event was topped by Phish, Childish Gambino, Odesza, Post Malone and The Lumineers, and also featured Cardi B, Kacey Musgraves, Solange, The Avett Brothers, The National, Brandi Carlile, Illenium and more.

Promoter Live Nation has announced changes on site and in ticketing for 2020

Promoter Live Nation has announced more ticket options, new activities, site improvements tools, on-site transportation options, additional info booths, additional Plaza programming and more.
The new GA+ ticket offers traditional general admission along with exclusive access to a new Centeroo lounge that features air-conditioned restrooms, exclusive bars and food vendors and relaxed shaded seating.
Changes to the festival site include improved signage and navigation.
The campground will boast an assortment of “improved tent and RV rental options,” including new darkroom dome tents (available with AC) and convenient camping near The Grove area.
In 2016, the first year after founders AC Entertainment and Superfly Presents sold Live Nation a controlling stake in the festival, Bonnaroo experienced a low attendance of 45,537, according to The Tennessean, constituting a 28,156 drop in ticket sales and $9.02 million drop in revenue from 2015.
As last year’s sold-out edition proved, promoters managed to turned it around again.
“I think [2016] made us think about: What are ways that we can distinguish this experience from other [festivals]?” said Jonathan Mayers, a Bonnaroo co-founder, in Pollstar‘s 2018 Bonnaroo cover story.
