Madison Square Garden Company announced the hire Monday of Jennifer Vogt as President, Creative Content and Productions.

Jennifer Vogt has joined the Madison Square Garden Company as President, Creative Content and Productions, the company announced Monday.

In filling the position – newly created by MSG – Vogt will help strategize and develop content for the company’s MSG Sphere venues, currently in development in London and Las Vegas.

According to a statement, Vogt “will work with the MSG Sphere construction and technology teams to develop a set of tools, called the ‘palette,’ that will make content creation for MSG Sphere an intuitive experience, enabling artists, creators and educators to maximize the potential of the venue’s immersive technologies.”

The Las Vegas Sphere is expected to open in 2021, with the London Sphere following a year later. In a statement, Vogt said, “I believe MSG Sphere will revolutionize the entertainment experience through sight and sound.”

Vogt will also “oversee the strengthening and expansion of MSG’s core production assets,” such as the Radio City Rockettes.

With more than two decades of experience in the sector, Vogt joins MSG following a stint as Show Design and Production Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering for Star Wars, where she oversaw “Galaxy’s Edge,” Disney’s largest single-themed land expansion ever.

She has also previously held positions at DreamWorks Animation, Awesomeness TV, Hewlett Packard Company and more. Prior to that, Vogt ran her own entertainment design company that worked with clients including Sony, ABC, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Pixar, Viacom and Mattel.

At MSG, Vogt will report to President Andrew Lustgarten who said, “The success of our vision for MSG Sphere comes down to content – how we will utilize fully immersive experiences on an unprecedented scale to transform the entertainment industry and utterly change the relationship between artist and audience.”

Vogt’s hire follows Madison Square Garden Company’s December hire of Geraldine Calpin as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, who will focus on developing the brands of MSG’s Sphere venues.
