Memphis Promoter Jim Green of Green Machine Concerts Passes, Aged 50

Veteran  concert promoter Jim Green of Memphis-based Green Machine Concerts passed June 1 of an apparent heart attack, according to relatives, with colleagues remembering Green as a hardworking and honest friend. He was 50. 

Green’s 30-year history includes time with Don Fox at Beaver Productions, and booking and promoting shows via Green Machine at venues including the BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove in Southaven, Miss., Walton Amphitheatre in Arkansas and Memphis area clubs and  theatres such as the New Daisy Theatre, the Orpheum and Minglewood Hall.
He was  an early promoter for Dave Matthews Band in the region, and produced major events including the 2010 Jagermeister tour featuring Eric Church, 2009 ZZ Top American Tour and many others.
There will be a visitation Sunday. June 7 and visitation and celebration of life Monday, June 8 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in Memphis. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Tunica Humane Society.
