Midem 2021 Goes All-Digital Again
– Midem 2021 will take place as a digital-only event.
Organizers are hopeful for a return to physical networking formats and keynotes in 2022.
Midem will take place as a free-to-access, digital-only event for the second year running.
Midem 2021 will take place on the Midem Digital online platform in November, which was created and launched for last year’s edition. It currently counts 12,500 members, who can access the platform all year for on-demand content as well as ongoing networking offers.
The Midem Latin American Forum also successfully took place online in mid-March, which is why organizers are optimistic about Midem 2021 going all-digital again.
What is more, Midem Africa, dedicated to the continents most vibrant music markets, will go down as “the first ever pan-African digital music event,” June 28-July 1.
Over the course of the four days, the conference “will map the African music industries, highlighting the most exciting trends and opportunities, and provide vital insights and practical tools to foster networking and accelerate careers and business amongst key local music players and their regional and international counterparts,” according to the announcement.
The Midem Digital Edition 2021, Nov. 16-19, will include “exclusive, buzzing keynote sessions, artist and music tech start-up competitions, workshops from leading services and digital trailblazers, together with unique virtual networking opportunities,” the announcement continues.
Midem expects to be back in its regular home of Cannes, in the south of France, June 7-10, 2022.

“Midem Digital has allowed us to be here, daily, throughout the year to help us all better understand the new context in which we find ourselves and to navigate our new landscape. Given the current global context around Covid, Midem 2021 will be a fully online experience.
“We can’t wait to be back in our home in Cannes in June 2022 for a long overdue reunion with our members from more than 151 countries, who’ve been making use of Midem Digital this year.”
