It has therefore launched the Music Networking Week, Nov. 30-Dec.4, which is free to access.

Midem has amassed an impressive list of delegates over the years, more than 10,000 of whom will be accessible to all those registered to the Midem Digital platform Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.

Dubbed Music Networking Week, the aim is to enable music professionals from around the world and from all sectors of the trade to get in touch with potential partners and grow their business in times when physical networking events are banned.
The Midem Digital platform, which was created for the first online edition of Midem in June, is free to use.
During the week, it will feature speedmeetings, Q&As and other networking formats developed by the Midem team.
Registrants will be able to reach out to more than 10,000 execs working in all parts of this industry, from labels and publishers, to festivals, promoters, artists, agents, managers and PRs, to lawyers and investors, startups to digital players, according to the announcement.
Organizers promise that additional industry leaders and experts not yet registered on the platform are going to specifically sign up for the week.
Midem director Alexandre Deniot said, “the need for our industry to stay globally connected has never been more crucial than it is today. By uniting the global community, I want to give music professionals a new opportunity to come together, grow their international networks and access concrete business around the world.”

One delegate who confirmed his participation in the ‘Music Networking Week’ is Ric Salmon, CEO of UK production and promotion company Driift, who commented: “I’m delighted to be taking part in Midem’s Music Networking Week. It’s been a tough year, but going forward it’s vital the industry

continues to collaborate, innovate and look towards building back. Our experience with Driift gives me optimism that livestreaming can play a part in that process, and I’m looking forward to discussing the dynamics of this fast-evolving format with delegates.”
Another delegate, Zach Katz, CEO of Raised in Space (USA), added: “The music industry is undergoing its most critical reinvention in decades. This period, although highly challenging, will prove to be a direct highway to the industry’s greatest growth.
“It’s more important than ever to proactively understand the vastly changing landscape and to know the emerging technology players who’ll go on to bring the music industry to its new heights. Events like Midem are at the forefront of the conversations that will guide the music industry into its future.”
