More Live Nation Festivals Cancelled In The UK

The 2020 edition of Download was cancelled
Lovebox, Download and the Isle Of Wight festivals are amongst the latest casualties of the Covid-19 crisis.
Lovebox is promoted by Live Nation subsidiary Mama Festivals, which also had to cancel the 15th anniversary of The Great Escape earlier this week.
Lovebox was scheduled to take place June 12-14 in London, England, featuring Disclosure, Tyler, The Creator, Khalid, Robyn, Jorja Smith, Anderson .Paak, FKA Twigs, and more.
However, “after monitoring this unprecedented situation,” a promoter statement reads, “it has become clear that it’s just not possible for this year’s festival to go ahead.
The exact same statement can be found on the homepage of Download festival, which is promoted by Live Nation subsidiary Festival Republic.
Download was scheduled for June 12-14, headlined by Kiss, Iron Maiden and System of a Down.

Classic rock still reigns at the tradition-rich British festival
The statement on Isle of Wight’s homepage reads: “The Isle of Wight Festival will no longer be taking place this year. This decision hasn’t been taken lightly and we have tried our hardest to make it work, but it was unavoidable given the current status. The whole team was excited to welcome everyone to the island for another fantastic festival and we extend our sincere apologies to everyone who was looking forward to it as much as we were.
“The safety of our audience, artists, crew and the Isle of Wight community is paramount and we appreciate your patience whilst we’ve been working through this unprecedented situation.”
Isle of Wight had been scheduled to take place June 11-14 with a lineup that featured Lionel Richie, Lewis Capaldi, Snow Patrol, Chemical Brothers, Duran Duran, The Black Eyed Peas, and many more.
Pollstar has reached out to Live Nation, as no announcements have been made so far regarding its many other UK summer events, but was declined any comment.
