My Chemical Romance performs in Australia in January 2012 at one of its final concerts before breaking up in 2013. The band will play North American arenas this fall as part of a reunion tour.

Emo royalty My Chemical Romance announced its long-rumored North American reunion tour on Wednesday.

The beloved band will kick off its 2020 trek at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on Sept. 9, and hit major North American markets including New York (Barclays Center, Sept. 17), Dallas (American Airlines Center, Sept. 30) and Denver (Pepsi Center, Oct. 2) before wrapping at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Oct. 11.

Though primarily an arena tour, My Chemical Romance will play three festivals while on the road this fall: Chicago’s Riot Fest (Sept. 12), Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival (Sept. 20) and Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival (Oct. 10).

My Chemical Romance returned to the stage last month, at Los Angeles’ Shrine Exposition Hall on Dec. 20, for its first concert in more than seven years.

“My Chemical Romance’s return show at the Shrine Dec. 20 sold out in minutes and grossed over $1.3 million,” Paradigm’s Matt Galle, who represents the band, told Pollstar in December. “My Chemical Romance was one of my first clients 20 years ago, and it’s very exciting to have them back.”

Prior to its North American dates, My Chemical Romance will play several previously announced shows overseas, performing in Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Russia between March and July.

My Chemical Romance released its fourth and most recent album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, in 2010. The band was still a strong live draw when it went announced its breakup in 2013; in 2011, the “Honda Civic Tour,” a joint outing with Blink-182 and Matt and Kim, grossed $16.6 million and secured a No. 57 ranking on Pollstar‘s Top 200 North American Tours chart.

In 2020, the band will return to several arenas it last played more than a decade ago. MCR’s 2007 arena tour included Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena (9,063 tickets sold, $295,186 grossed), Sunrise, Fla.’s BB&T Center (6,101 tickets, $166,252), Oakland’s Oakland Arena (7,295 tickets, $220,674) and Los Angeles’ Forum (13,397 tickets, $405,259).

With nearly a decade of pent-up demand, those figures seem destined to be much higher this time around.
