New Order & Pet Shop Boys To Tour North America Together

Pet Shop Boys and New Order today confirmed a co-headlining tour spanning 11 dates through North America.
“The Unity Tour,” promoted by Live Nation, will kick off Sept. 5 at Budweiser Stage in Toronto, ON, and includes stops at Madison Square Garden in New York, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and more.
Both Pet Shop Boys and New Order will play a full set with the headliner alternating each night. Full list of dates below.
New Order emerged from Joy Division, following the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The band achieved worldwide acclaim for its post-punk sound with influences from New York’s club scene.
The single “Blue Monday” from the 1983 album Power, Corruption & Lies, released on Factory Records, has become the best-selling 12-inch single of all time.
New Order’s discography includes Low-Life (1985), Brotherhood (1986) Substance(1987) and Technique (1989). Republic (1993) Get Ready (2001) and Waiting for the Sirens’ Call (2005) before bassist Peter Hook’s departure in 2007.
In 2015, the band released Music Complete, reaching number two in the U.K. album chart. New Order performed as part of Manchester International Festival 2017 for a series of shows in collaboration with New York artist Liam Gillick. These shows were taken to Turin and Vienna in May 2018 to further great acclaim and led to a live album.
Recent live dates include a four-night residency at The Fillmore in Miami, FL, where Jan. 15 has been declared New Order Day in the City of Miami Beach.
Pollstar‘s most recent box office report for New Order include 4,093 sold at the Forest National in Brussels, Belgium, Oct. 14, 2019, grossing $209,375, and 3,421 ticket sold at Berlin’s Tempodrom, Oct. 7, 2019, grossing $253,343.

Pet Shop Boys recently released their 14th studio LP, Hotspot, via x2 Records/Kobalt. The album reached number three in the albums charts of U.K., Germany and Spain, and number one on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, making it the fourth Pet Shop Boys’ album to accomplish this.
Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, have sold over 50 million records worldwide since they emerged in the U.K. in 1985 with their worldwide number one single, “West End Girls.”
The duo has collected three BRIT Awards, and has been nominated for a Grammy six times.
For their innovative tour productions, Pet Shop Boys have collaborated with artists and directors like Derek Jarman, Zaha Hadid, Sam Taylor-Johnson and Es Devlin in the past. In 2016 and 2018 they played four-night residencies at the Royal Opera House in London.
Their greatest hits tour, “Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live,” opens on Friday, May 1, at Berlin’s Mercedes Benz Arena, and will see Pet Shop Boys perform at arenas across Europe and the U.K. through July.
The band’s last tour was called “Super” in support of its eponymous 2016 album. The tour visited most of the world, including some of the UK venues, PSB is scheduled to return to on “Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live”.
Pollstar‘s box office reports show that during Pet Shop Boys’ last visit to Manchester, Feb. 19, 2017, the band grossed $468,230 with 8,775 tickets sold at Machester Arena.
On its last visit to Birmingham, Feb. 24, 2017, the band performed at the city’s other big arena besides Resorts World Arena, the Arena Birmingham, where it grossed $338,027 with 6,123 tickets sold.
