The recent death of George Floyd at the hands of police has inspired the world at large to take action to fight injustice, end police brutality, examine our own racial biases and privilege, promote inclusion and show the world that black lives do indeed matter. Pollstar has compiled a list of organizations helping with this work in a variety of ways, from working to reform the criminal justice system to magnifying the opportunities for black female executives in the entertainment industry.

Antiracist Research & Policy Center: ARPC’s mission is to convene and team up varied specialists to figure out novel and practical ways to understand, explain, and solve seemingly intractable problems of racial inequity and injustice. Our research and policy work is deliberately antiracist.
Bail Project: provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who are legally presumed innocent, and whom a judge has deemed eligible for release before trial contingent on paying bail. We enable our clients to return home to their families and communities while awaiting their court dates. We call this model Community Release with Support. 
Black Lives Matter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the U.S., UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. 
Black Rock Coalition was created in the fall of 1985 in New York City with the purpose of creating an atmosphere conducive to the maximum development, exposure and acceptance of Black alternative music. The BRC seeks to foster cooperation among musicians and like organizations through networking and shared resources.

Color of Change is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. We help people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. The Innocent Project exonerates the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice. 
The Loveland Foundation was established in 2018 by academic, writer and lecturer Rachel Cargle in response to her widely successful birthday wish fundraiser, Therapy for Black Women and Girls. The Loveland Foundation is the official continuation of this effort to bring opportunity and healing to communities of color, and especially to Black women and girls.

NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans.
The National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment (NABFEME) is a nonprofit organization for professional women in the entertainment industry. National Bail Out is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration. 
Know Your Rights Camp: (started by Colin Kaepernick) Our mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders.

RAICES: The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to promote justice for all by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. 
Reclaim The Block organizes Minneapolis community and city council members to move money from the police department into other areas of the city’s budget that truly promote community health and safety. 
Showing Up For Racial Justice is a national network of groups and individuals working to undermine white supremacy and to work toward racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves white people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability. 
 
Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.
