Pollstar's Black History Month Roundtable: Celebrating Excellence In The Live Industry’ With Ashley, Azu, Farris, Harmon, Mayfield and Walker

Pollstar today announced its ‘Black History Month Roundtable: Celebrating Excellence in the Live Industry,” a power-packed roundtable of top executives including: ICM’s Dennis Ashley, Culture Collective founder Jonathan Azu, Afropunk’s Tina Farris, Jesse Collins Entertainment’s Dionne Harmon and Cheaa Mayfield. The panel will be moderated by Collective Management Group’s Geoff Walker.

“Black History Month Roundtable: Excellence in The Live Industry” livestream discussion will take place on Thursday, Feb. 25th at 11:00 a.m. PT/2:00 p.m. ET and can be accessed from Pollstar’s Facebook page.

The panel coincides with Pollstar’s Black History Month issue guest edited by Geoff Walker and featured a cover interview with the legendary Chaka Kahn, who was just nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and whose Epiphany album will be re-released on Rhino Records this month. The issue also features a story on the top-grossing black artists as well as historic moments in live Black performances. The issue also features interviews with panelists Dionne Harmon , who as EVP of Content & Strategy at Jesse Collins Entertainment along with Roc Nation, did the first black-produced Super Bowl Halftime show with The Weeknd; as well with Culture Collective founder and CEO Jonathan Azu who this month released a Diversity in Music directory to help better integrate our industry.

Additionally, the panel features ICM’s partner and senior agent Dennis Ashley, one of the industry’s most senior black executives; Tina Farris, Executive Producer of the acclaimed Afropunk Festial and owner of Tina Farris Tours and who was an honoree on Pollstar’s 2019 Tour Managers list ; and Cheaa Mayfiled, the son of the late-great Curtis Mayfield who helped put together the Rhino reissue of There’s No Place Like America Today.
