Post Malone Announces “Runaway” North American Arena Tour

Post Malone’s reign continues apace. The ascendant rapper announced a major North American tour Monday that will take him to arenas across the continent this fall.
The 24-year-old star begins his “Runaway” tour Sept. 14 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Wash., and concludes the trek Nov. 20 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
Noteworthy stops along the way include an Oct. 14 date at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where Malone opened for Justin Bieber merely three years ago, and an Oct. 18 gig at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, where the artist’s co-headlining concert with Aerosmith as part of the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Festival sold 12,894 tickets and grossed $3.62 million on Feb. 1.
During the tour, Post Malone will also stop at Las Vegas’ Live Is Beautiful Festival (Sept. 22), New Orleans’ Voodoo Festival (Oct. 27) and his second annual Posty Fest in Dallas (Nov. 2).
Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee, who features on Post Malone’s recent No. 1 single “Sunflower,” and Tyla Yaweh will provide support for the tour, which is produced by Live Nation.
These days come fresh on the heels of an international tour that landed Post Malone at No. 20 on Pollstar‘s 2019 Midyear Worldwide Tours chart, with a gross of $36.4 million, as well as headlining turns at American festivals Bonnaroo and Firefly. The artist broke out in a big way last year, securing a No. 93 rank on Pollstar‘s Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tours with a gross of $20.9 million.
Post Malone’s 2019 has made good on what his agent, UTA’s Cheryl Paglierani, told Pollstar last summer after the musician wrapped a successful amphitheater tour: “Things will definitely get bigger, we’re just getting started!”
Over the last two years, Post Malone has catapulted three songs – “Rockstar,” “Psycho” and “Sunflower” — to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100; only Drake scored as many No. 1s on the chart over that period. Since 2018, Malone’s singles “Wow” and “Better Now” have also charted high, peaking at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
