Several of the artists booked for Hangout 2022, including headliner Post Malone, Kane Brown, Megan Thee Stallion, Illenium and Louis The Child, were booked for the event’s 2020 iteration, which was scuttled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Besides Malone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Marshmello and Lana Del Rey were slated to headline Hangout 2020.

Hangout’s 2019 iteration was topped by Travis Scott, The Lumineers, Khalid, Vampire Weekend, Cardi B and Kygo.

The Hangout headlining bookings further cement Post Malone and Tame Impala, who both appeared on Pollstar‘s cover in the last year-plus, as festival headlining powerhouses. This year, the former topped Lollapalooza, Rolling Loud, Governors Ball and Day N Vegas, while the latter led the bills of Firefly, Outside Lands and Life Is Beautiful.

Malone, who completed the bulk of his “Runaway Tour” just before the pandemic arrived, ranked No. 6 on Pollstar‘s year-end worldwide touring chart in 2020 with a gross of $40.3 million.

Tame Impala, which had just started an arena tour of its own in March 2020, resumed the run this fall, notching strong showings at Chicago’s United Center (13,452 tickets sold, $908,483 grossed) and Atlanta’s State Farm Arena (10,499, $754,560), among others.

Halsey, meanwhile, may be ramping up her touring in 2022, following the release of her Grammy-nominated album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power in August. The singer was to embark on a summer amphitheater tour in 2020 that was pushed to 2021 before its ultimate cancellation. Her strongest U.S. box office showing to date is a headlining gig at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill., on Nov. 19, 2017, that moved 10,537 tickets and grossed $522,304.

Registration for Hangout’s presale, which begins on Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. CT, is open now.
