Taylor Swift, Kesha and Katy Perry are a few of the stars helping celebrate the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots with this year’s virtual edition of Pride Live’s Stonewall Day.

The livestream event is set for June 26 from 1-3 p.m. EST, with a pre-show at 12:45 p.m. Stonewall Day can be viewed via Logo’s YouTube or Facebook pages.
Kesha and Hayley Kiyoko will be sharing performances during the event, which features appearances by President Barack Obama, Demi Lovato, fashion designers Donatella Versace and Christian Siriano, screenwriter/director Dustin Lance Black, actor/singer Luke Evans, actress/producer Blossom C. Brown, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson and more. Geena Rocero, a supermodel, TED speaker, and transgender advocate, is hosting the event.
Proceeds will support LGBTQ+ organizations severely affected by COVID-19 including Brave Space Alliance, Trans Latina Coalition, Trans Lifeline, and The Ally Coalition. A post on Pride Live’s Facebook page notes that this year’s event “will speak out in support of #BlackLivesMatter and address LGBTQ+ issues including the dangerous rise of violence facing transgender women, especially Black trans women.”

Stonewall Day honors and celebrates the legacy of the Stonewall Riots, in which patrons of the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village, along with other area lesbian and gay bars fought back against the police after a police raid became violent. The uprising is considered one of the key moments in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S.
Last year the second edition of Stonewall Day took place in Greenwich Village with performances by Lady Gaga and Alicia Keys.
The 2020 event is being put on in partnership with Warner Media, Logo, Nasdaq and Pride Media.
