Recording Engineer Jimmy Robinson Dies

 Jimmy Robinson, a recording engineer who worked with Bob Welch, Buddy Miles, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few, died last month. He was 67.

Robinson, as a member of The Nowhere Men, was playing a gig at The Cellar Door in Washington, D.C., when he met Buddy Miles. Through Miles, he worked a few gigs at the Record Plant in NYC and was eventually hired as an assistant engineer, according to a statement.

From there, Robinson worked as an engineer and consultant for various companies including Electric Lady Studios, MTV, Chun King Studios, Sony Music for Tommy Mottola and Robinson’s own studio, Ear Candy Audio, Inc
