Jimmy Buffett, Jefferson Starship and Will Dailey are all being teased as special guests for a July 22 livestream event celebrating concerts at Boston’s Fenway Park. The event will be streamed on Fenway Park and Live Nation New England’s respective Facebook pages.
Hosted by Will Dailey, the Fenway Sessions is a collaboration between the Boston Red Sox and Live Nation. The livestream will include footage of Foo Fighters and New Kids On The Block performing at Fenway, along with a message from Bell Biv DeVoe.
“We are excited to partner with our friends at the Red Sox to help bring the Fenway Sessions to life,” Don Law, President of Live Nation New England said in a statement.  “Concerts at Fenway Park are an experience like no other and we are thrilled to help celebrate a genuine New England summer tradition all while supporting the Red Sox Foundation and Crew Nation.”
All proceeds from the livestream will benefit the Red Sox Foundation and Live Nation’s Crew Nation.
Fenway Park is certainly a centerpiece when it comes to Boston venues, and in November ground was broken on a new 5,000-cap performing arts center being built down the street from the ballpark by Fenway Sports Group Real Estate. The venue is to be operated by Live Nation and was slated to open in Fall 2021.
Fenway hosted Dropkick Murphys for a special livestream event on May 29, with a beamed-in performance from Bruce Springsteen.
During a regular touring year the ballpark has the ability to draw major grosses, as Billy Joel, Zac Brown Band and Phish all reported grosses above $4.8 million in 2019.
