Rob Cyrynowski Launches Livestar Entertainment Canada

– Rob Cyrynowski
Canadian music industry veteran Rob Cyrynowski has opened his own talent buying and booking agency, Livestar Entertainment Canada.
The company will be based in the Calgary area and will work throughout Canada.
Cyrynowski has been working with Penny Lane Entertainment/ Cowboys Dance Hall for more than 25 years, and along with some of his colleagues, has amassed 13 Canadian Country Music Awards, including the Ron Sakamoto Talent Buyer/Promoter of the Year award alongside his mentor Jim Cressman and also sits on the board of directors the Canadian Country Music Association.
Over his career he has worked with KISS, Def Leppard, Rush, Old Dominion, Pitbull, Thomas Rhett, Alan Jackson, Blink-182 and Tiësto. He was most recently a VP at Invictus Entertainment Group.
“[Opening my own shop] is something that I’ve always wanted to do,” Cyrynowski told Pollstar.  “I’ve got some aspirations to bring live music to the marketplace, with the venues I work with and the various agents, to create a new hybrid agency of non-exclusive artists. My aim is to foster a better climate for commerce through inclusivity and purpose.
“I plan on developing acts and doing full tours. I’ve got the agency chops and the talent buying chops and the connections from clubs to casinos to arenas to festivals.”
Another key goal for Livestar is working with indigenous communities, continuing the legacy of his friend Gord Downie.
“I have intentions to also take live music into communities that are not doing it or not doing it in a sustainable or responsible manner, including some of our indigenous communities,” Cyrynowski said. “I think there’s opportunity to bring some unity between our ancestral peoples here in Canada and music is a universal, healing force, especially when it’s live.
“[Downie] made a statement about reconciling some of the things that our government has done to the indigenous peoples over the years and starting a healing process. I want to continue that and explore some of that work in his spirit.”
Cyrynowski made the announcement in the midst of Canadian Music Week, and is nominated for Concert/ Club Talent Buyer of the Year at CMW’s Live Music Industry Awards.
