Salty Artist Management has hired Eric Chen, Tony Messina-Doerning, Andrew Baker and Ben Locke,  who are based out of New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago.
The new managers bring artists including Kate Bollinger, ella jane, Huck, Jackie Hayes, Model / Actriz, Momma, Slow Pulp and Soft Glas to SAM’s roster.
Chen previously worked for Fat Possum Records and Birlliant Corners Artist Management (formerly Zeitgeist Artist Management). In addition to managing for Salty, Messina-Doerning will continue working with A&R at Nice Life record label. Baker previously worked as a co-founder of Slapped Magazine in Portland, and worked at Hieroglyphics Imperium Recording. Locke has been working with A&R for Warner Music Group and is the founder of Invertebrate, an artist-development organization in Brooklyn.
“In a year that has seen all of our client touring come to a halt, it’s been nice to pause and reflect on how much this boutique operation has grown. Salty started with Chris [Crowley] and I working out of our bedrooms in college and as a result of the pandemic, we have now oddly enough come full circle – we are just working from newer apartments and alongside even more artists that we deeply respect,” Chad Heimann, co-founder and managing partner of Salty Artist Management said in a statement. “As we look ahead, we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for Salty, especially with this new team of talented managers and their phenomenal clients joining our family.”
Founded in 2012, Salty Artist Management currently represents acts including Car Seat Headrest, Mitski, MICHELLE, Jay Som, Field Medic and more. Heimann is also a talent buyer for Live Nation Entertainment San Francisco and previously was lead talent buyer for Noise Pop Industries.
