Shakira Signs With WME In All Areas

Award-winning recording artist Shakira has signed with WME in all areas, the company announced Thursday.

In February, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez headlined the Super Bowl LIV halftime show, which garnered four Emmy Award nominations.

The performance was another career highlight for the performer, whose accolades include three Grammy Awards, 11 Latin Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards and seven Billboard Music Awards. She’s sold 80 million records worldwide, and has notched four top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including a No. 1 with 2006’s “Hips Don’t Lie,” which earned her the distinction of the only South American artist to ever top the chart.

Shakira’s also a touring force. Her mammoth 2018 landed her at No. 39 on Pollstar‘s Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tours Chart with a gross of $40.7 million and the box office highlight of an Oct. 30 show at Santiago, Chile’s Estadio Nacional that sold 51,382 tickets and grossed $3.6 million. She also appeared on the chart in 2011.

Beyond music and touring, Shakira coached on the fourth and sixth seasons of “The Voice,” starred in the 2016 film “Zootopia,” founded the charitable Pies Descalzos Foundation and served on President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.

Shakira was signed to CAA.
