O’Toole alleges Uber driver Abdallah Ahmed was hired to drive him to dinner before a show in Amarillo, Texas, Feb. 25. Ahmed allegedly got lost, stopped in the middle of a highway and was rear-ended by another vehicle. The crash left O’Toole with a fractured neck and other injuries, according to a statement.

The suit states the crash “pushed O’Toole off a concert, radio, and album promotion plan more than two years in the making.” O’Toole was set to embark on a national tour a week after the crash.

“The trajectory of Mr. O’Toole’s career crashed like the car Mr. Ahmed was recklessly driving,” Michael Patrick Doyle, O’Toole’s representative, said in the statement. “The timing of the of this negligent crash was secularly bad for Rich’s career.”
