Last week seems to have been a particularly good one for film soundtracks, as the top slot on the Elite 100 chart is occupied by a film soundtrack, with six more further down on the chart.

The highest-charting artist of the week ending Jan. 11, 2018, was The Greatest Showman Soundtrack, which features music sung by film actors including Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron and Zendaya. The album got to that position through its album sales, which towered above all other chart entries with 68,500, though it also did well in the song sales metric, with 88,700, putting it behind only Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars, with 99,900 and 105,800 respectively.

The list features plenty of the usual suspects, including Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Post Malone, and Kendrick Lamar near the top. One notable climber is rapper G-Eazy, whose album The Beautiful & Damned dropped in December. He is now riding the success of two singles, “Him &I” with Halsey and “No Limit” with Cardi B and A$ap Rocky.

Outside of The Greatest Showman, the other soundtracks appearing on the chart this week are: Hamilton Soundtrack at No. 22; Moana Soundtrack at No. 35; Pitch Perfect Soundtrack at No. 54; Trolls Soundtrack at 56; Bright: The Album at No. 68; and Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack at 69.

Another new entry on the chart is Niall Horan, who is back at No. 49 with 18,000 song sales being his strongest stat.

Brett Young is also on the chart this week, with 16,700 song sales and 7.2 million streams.

H.E.R., who recently graced the cover of Pollstar, also appears at the No. 72 position on the chart thanks to 8.5 million streams, many of which were the single “My Song,” newly released in 2018.

Finally, Trippie Redd is on the chart at No. 80, mainly on the weight of his 8.3 million streams.

For next week’s chart look out for Anderson East, whose album Encore dropped, Jan. 12 and Camila Cabello, who released her eponymous solo debut the same date.
