Superfly Acquires Sensory Experience Company Listen

Superfly is acquiring a majority stake in sensory experience company Listen.

Founded in 2012, Listen collaborates with artists like Brian Eno, Childish Gambino and St. Vincent and helps brands like Microsoft, Paypal, Ford, Virgin and Cisco brand identity and marketing in a sound and voice-first world.
Spotify co-founder Richard Goodstone said Listen brings “the same level of strategic rigor to sound that is put into visual, creative and communication strategies at a time when sonic branding is becoming essential to long-term success … They are the best in the world at what they do and we can’t wait to see what the future brings.”
Listen adds a full suite of sensory capabilities to Superfly, including immersive experiences, voice marketing, sound identity, podcasts and artist partnerships.
Beyond its award-winning work in immersive experiences, Listen defines how “brands should leverage sound as a critical and highly effective element of their identity.”
Added Listen co-founder Steve Milton, “We are thrilled with this partnership. Together, we will continue to create new and immersive experiences while innovating in an increasingly sound and voice-first world.”
Added fellow Listen co-founder Brett Volker, “We are incredibly proud of the work we’ve delivered alongside the many talented people on our team, and we feel fortunate to have found such a like-minded partner who shares our passion for creating meaningful cultural experiences,”
Superfly’s portfolio includes Bonnaroo, which it co-founded in 2002, Outside Lands and The Seinfeld Experience and the company has put together award-winning integrated campaigns for brands including Citi, Dropbox, Nike and Intel.
2019 marked Superfly’s last year of co-producing Bonnaroo, after the promoter sold the festival to Live Nation in 2015. However, AC Entertainment, the company’s partner in the Manchester Tenn., festival, will continue on with the world’s largest promoter.
