Kofi Burbridge, the longtime keyboardist and flautist for Tedeschi Trucks Band, died in Atlanta Feb. 15 at the age of 57.

The multi-instrumentalist was hospitalized last month after a setback related to a 2017 emergency heart surgery, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Tedeschi Trucks Band announced in January that Burbridge would be unable to join the band on its current tour.  Keyboardist Gabe Dixon has performed in his stead.

Tedeschi Trucks Band posted a simple statement on their Twitter and Facebook pages Feb. 16: “We will miss our brother,” with a photo of Burbridge.
