‘The World Of Hans Zimmer’ Tours France & Saudi Arabia

“The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration,” featuring longtime friends and colleagues of the star film composer, kicked off Sept. 21 in Lyon, France. Promoter Semmel Concerts described the launch as “the first international concert tour after one-and-a-half years of silence.”

The show production travels with 110 members inclusive orchestra, soloists and crew, just without Zimmer himself. Through Sept. 29, the tour will also visit Toulouse, Nantes, Bordeaux, Lille, Strasbourg, Dijon and Clermont Ferrand. The capacity in the eight individual arenas ranges between 4,500 and 7,500 seats. 
The show also visits, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the first time, Oct. 9, 2021. “Except for a few remaining tickets, the shows are sold out,” Semmel Concerts informs.
To enter any of the eight upcoming arena concerts in France, the audience needs to produce either proof of vaccination, proof of a negative test taken no longer than 48 hours prior to the show, or proof of a positive PCR test of at result that’s at least 11 days but a maximum of six months old.
In contrast to the “Hans Zimmer Live” tour, which features the composer on stage with his band, “The World of Hans Zimmer” presents his works arranged for a live symphony orchestra – directed by Gavin Greenaway, Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack conductor – whom, he says, he trusts more than he trusts himself.
Zimmer himself spent months transforming his soundtracks into opulent concert suites, and also gave precise instructions to the artistic direction of the visual projections of film sequences that are projected alongside the music.
Short video recordings of Hans Zimmer and his longtime collaborators will also be shown intermittently throughout the show to give the audience a glimpse behind the scenes of Zimmer’s studio work.
Zimmer plans to be on European stages himself again in 2022. Upcoming film projects include the latest James Bond film No Time to Die, Dune, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, and Top Gun: Maverick.
