Thomas Rhett Announces Three-Night Run At Billy Bob’s Texas

Thomas Rhett is the latest big-name country artist to book a run of gigs at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth, Texas, as the live industry continues to plot a COVID-safe return to stages.

“Man it feels good to say this – the guys and I will be playing THREE back-to-back nights May 6, 7, & 8 at @billybobstexas to help celebrate their 40th birthday,” Rhett posted on Instagram. “We are able to do these very special shows because capacity will be limited and socially distanced, and Billy Bob’s will have strict Covid protocols in place.”

Prior to COVID, the capacity at Billy Bob’s Texas was at 6,000. The venue’s upcoming calendar includes shows by Tracy Lawrence, Aaron Lewis, Kip Moore, Easton Corbin, Justin Moore, The Gatlin Brothers, Hank Williams Jr., Midland, Dwight Yoakam, The Bellamy Brothers and Miranda Lambert.

The last time Rhett was on the road for his 2019 “Very Hot Summer Tour” he was headlining arenas, including stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden and Chicago’s United Center. The most recent report submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice was a sold-out Oct. 12, 2019, show at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville that sold 13,596 tickets and grossed $1,094,765.

A presale for Rhett’s Billy Bob’s Texas shows begins Thursday, Feb. 25. Fans can get access to the presale by downloading the HomeTeam app. The general onsale starts Friday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. CT.

Rhett is helping those affected by the recent devasting winter storms by donating a portion of proceeds from the concerts to North Texas Food Bank and other local organizations providing aid.

Billy Bob’s Texas has been closed Feb. 19-23 with an announcement on the venue’s website explaining that “like much of Fort Worth, Billy Bob’s Texas is located in an area that is under a ‘boil water notice’ after the winter storm.” The venue postponed a Jimmie Allen show originally scheduled for Feb. 19 to June 11 and a gig with Shenandoah & Collin Raye scheduled for February 20 has been moved to June 25. After deep cleaning and sanitizing, the “world’s largest honky tonk” is set to re-open Feb. 24 at 11 a.m.
