The FanSale ticket exchange will launch in spring 2019
CTS Eventim’s Swiss operation Ticketcorner will launch its in-house resale platform FanSale this coming spring.
Ticketcorner states that FanSale doesn’t allow for commercially organized dealers or resale at exorbitant prices. All available tickets are sold at no more than the original price – plus a fee to cover the costs.
To Ticketcorner CEO Andreas Angehrn, security is a priority at FanSale. The FanSale promise: Any ticket offered is examined based on various criteria. If it passes the test, it receives Ticketcorner’s seal of approval, and is then released for resale.
The number of tickets for resale per person is limited. Tickets are bought and sold by a fully automated process via credit card and print@home to guarantee fast and secure handling.
“Our new platform FanSale has no commercial purpose,” Angehrn said. “The reason we’re doing this is to stop the dishonest practices of the secondary market, to guarantee the authenticity of the tickets to our customers and make sure they get a fair deal.
“In the coming years, we intend to establish FanSale as the leading and also as the fairest secondary market ticketing platform in Switzerland.”
Babette Sigg, president of Swiss consumer forum kf, welcomed the new FanSale platform: “Security and fairness are vital to consumers. It cannot be that they are fleeced by secondary market sites, that they pay a lot of money for a ticket and ultimately are not even admitted to the event. This is why we are pleased with the initiative of Ticketcorner.”
CTS Eventim has been operating FanSale in Germany for more than a decade. The platform launched in the UK at the beginning if this year.
