People interested in a ticket need to register through Verified Fan by Aug. 28, which requires an email address, phone number, or Ticketmaster account.
After the registration process, Ticketmaster identifies the genuine fans, using data science technology and a manual process. These fans then receive a unique access code to purchase tickets during the onsale, which starts Aug. 31.
Ticketmaster also announced it would be restricting resale.
The digital-only tickets will have a mobile barcode, which is much more difficult to trade than a paper or PDF ticket. Tickets will be tied to the fan’s mobile and can only be transferred by logging into one’s Ticketmaster account, and transferring that ticket to another Ticketmaster account. The original ticket is then voided and reissued.
Following the announcement that Ticketmaster shut down its resale-sites Seatwave and GetMeIn!, the Live Nation company says it has taken the next step to giving control back to the artist and restricting resale.
What is more, Four Tet decided to offer tickets to each of the four shows for just £5 ($6).
Andrew Parsons, MD Ticketmaster UK, said: “We’re putting mobile first, and leading the charge to a fully digital future – one we know artists and fans are ready for. These gigs present the perfect opportunity to use the tools we have to restrict resale from the get-go and give full control back to the artist over their own show.
“Combining our Verified Fan technology with 100 percent digital ticketing will guarantee that O2 Academy Brixton is packed with real fans, paying exactly what Four Tet wants them to pay.”

Tom Baker of promoter Eat Your Own Ears added: “It’s really great to be returning to O2 Academy Brixton to host Four Tet’s biggest shows to date. Two live shows in addition to the now legendary all-night DJ sets that always see him choose some amazing guests to join him, all for the price of £5.
“It’s fantastic to be working with Ticketmaster to ensure the die-hard fans are the ones at the shows, and that these £5 tickets aren’t bought and resold for profit by touts.”
