Travis Scott’s inaugural Astroworld Festival, produced by ScoreMore Shows and Live Nation, will take place Nov. 17 at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, the red-hot rapper’s hometown, with full lineup to be announced “soon.”

Astroworld Festival will take place across the street from the former home of the downtown Houston amusement park AstroWorld that opened in 1968 to complement the nearby Astrodome, the world’s first multi-purpose domed sports arena and “eighth wonder of the world.” The festival announcement follows Scott’s release just last week of the Astroworld LP which topped the charts.
The Astroworld Festival seeks to bring back the beloved spirit and nostalgia of AstroWorld, making Travis Scotts’ childhood dream of sharing the magic of AstroWorld.
“Travis, myself and our entire Cactus Jack team couldn’t be more excited to finally reveal our plans for the first-ever Astroworld Festival,” stated David Stromberg, Travis Scott’s manager and GM of Cactus Jack Records. “Our ultimate goal in launching this Fest is to bring some well-deserved recognition to Travis’ hometown of Houston, the place that has made him both the man and creative artist he is today. H-Town has an incredible rich cultural history, and we look forward to showcasing to residents from Travis’ own backyard and across the globe what makes this city so special. Make sure to get your tickets now as the inaugural Astroworld will be a really special and unique experience not to be missed.”

Travis Scott brings it on for the crowd at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in Florida March 3.
Texas-based ScoreMore Shows and Live Nation have partnered with Scott to help produce the inaugural event. ScoreMore Shows is now an independent division of Live Nation, after the promotions giant acquired the company founded by Claire Bogle and Sascha Stone Guttfreund in May.
ScoreMore also produces JMBLYA (Dallas, Austin, and Houston), Neon Desert Music Festival (El Paso), and Mala Luna Music Festival (San Antonio), which just announced a lineup topped by Cardi B, Nicky Jam, and Tyler, The Creator.
Scott was part of the blockbuster Kendrick Lamar 2017 North American summer tour that grossed $41.4 million and came in at No. 25 on Pollstar’s Year End Top 200 North American Tours
Astroworld festival continues the trend of artist-curated festivals, which just this year has seen new events announced from J. Cole in North Carolina, also produced by ScoreMore, and Post Malone in Dallas. Astroworld also continues the trend of those events by not announcing additional artists before going on sale.
Other artist-curated or led events include electronic artist Excision, who with UTA has created two new events in Lost Lands in Ohio, which agent Steve Gordon sold 25,000 tickets in its first year, and the new Bass Canyon which launches later this month at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington.
Another is outlaw country artist Cody Jinks, whose Loud And Heavy Festival in Fort Worth was first reported by Pollstar and is set to include Whiskey Myers,  The Sword, Whitey Morgan, Nikki Lane and Corrosion of Conformity on the eclectic bill Aug. 18.
There’s seemingly a festival for all manner of artists, with Garrett Dutton, also known as of G Love & Special Sauce, announcing the Cape Cod Roots & Blues Festival, a one-day event scheduled for Sept. 15 on the shores of Nauset Beach in Orleans, Mass. He will bring along Citizen Cope, Hawaiian group Ron Artis II And The Truth, and Boston Funk Ambassadors Ripe.
