The ticket reseller stated that it now complies with CMA’s demands

Viagogo has responded to both the launch of the Face-value European Alliance For Ticketing FEAT, as well as the investigation by Britain’s Competition and Markets Authority CMA.
FEAT aims to get Europe-wide legislation in place to restrict the resale value of tickets, among other goals. Although viagogo isn’t mentioned in the FEAT announcement, the company has sent out a response.
It states, “viagogo aims to provide buyers with the widest possible choice of tickets to events, and enables sellers to reach a global audience. Once buyer and seller have entered into a transaction, viagogo ensures everything goes smoothly. viagogo is not the ticket seller and all transactions are between the buyers and sellers. See our Terms and Conditions for more information.”
The company also responded to the investigation by the CMA. The authorities had set a deadline for StubHub, Ticketmaster and viagogo to overhaul their business practices. That deadline ended on Jan. 18.
Viagogo tweeted: “Further to the agreement we reached with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) we have met the deadline and are now compliant,” referring to
The UK’s FanFair Alliances disagrees, stating “viagogo appears to have made only minor amendments to its website. FanFair Alliance will now begin a process of collating and submitting further evidence to the CMA.”
Viagogo maintains its conviction that private individuals should be allowed to do with their tickets as they please. The tweet continues: “All tickets on viagogo are valid and it is perfectly legal to resell a ticket or give it to someone else if you want to.”
The company has previously stated publicly that any terms and conditions that restrict resale are not in consumers best interests, are unenforceable, and almost certainly illegal.
Pollstar has requested an interview with a viagogo spokesperson, which got denied.
