Pennsylvania Parrotheads were not pleased when extremely long lines at KeyBank Pavilion in Burgettstown caused some fans to miss more than half of Jimmy Buffett’s concert Saturday night.

Promoter Live Nation issued a statement apologizing for the wait times but didn’t offer any details about the reason for the delay.
“During last night’s show some fans experienced longer than normal wait times,” Live Nation said in a statement, according to KDKA. “We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this may have caused and will continue working hard to prevent situations like this from happening again in the future. Any fans who experienced delays are encouraged to reach out to Ticketmaster Fan Support.”
Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA reported that one fan claimed there was a problem with metal detectors at the gates. The station added, “Another woman said she finally got into the concert at intermission and only was able to hear a few songs. She said people were pushing and fighting in the lines and that she called 911 because at times she felt unsafe in the crowd.”
Fans expressed their frustration by leaving comments on social media and posting photos of the long lines.
“What a joke,” A fan named Janey Chambers-Starr posted on the venue’s Facebook page. “Went to Buffet concert, 21,000 people, 2 gates open. 10 workers at each gate , the incompetent idiot running the place should do the math. I got there at 630 got in the gate at 915 just in time to hear 3 songs of his encore. I saw people in wheelchairs leaving . WHAT KIND OF IDIOT IS IN CHARGE. SEND ME MY MONEY BACK FOR 5 TICKETS. OR BETTER YET MR MANAGER CALL ME.”
C Jeanne Clapp posted, “What a ridiculous mess of a concert last night. Key Bank Pavilion ruined our Jimmy Buffett experience. Stood in line 2 hours, missed half the show, dangerous parking lot departure. Absolutely nothing was professionally handled. Shame on everyone responsible.”
The venue responded with the following comment on its Facebook page July 8: “We apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced getting into the Jimmy Buffett concert last night. Please contact the KeyBank Pavilion administration office beginning tomorrow morning at 10am to speak directly to a guest services representative. You can reach us at 724-947-7400. Thank you, all.”
Pollstar reached out to the KeyBank Pavilion and Live Nation for comment.
